Rosie AI Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 October 2026
These Terms govern your use of Rosie AI at https://rosie-ai.co.uk (the "Service"), operated by Catherine Alani, trading as Rosie AI ("Rosie", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who can use Rosie
You must be at least 13 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm a parent or guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Your account
Sign in uses your Google account. Keep your account secure and tell us at support@rosie-ai.co.uk if you think it has been compromised. You are responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, and keep only one account per person.
3. What Rosie provides
Rosie is a language-learning app with lessons, exercises, speaking practice, AI conversation modes (Coach, Converse, Quick Fire, Duo Converse), a phrasebook and optional social features. We may add, change or remove features at any time.
4. AI-generated content and learning accuracy
Parts of Rosie use AI models to generate conversation, translations and feedback. AI output can be wrong, unnatural or out of date. Course content may be published before review by a qualified native speaker and is improved using user feedback. Rosie is an educational aid, not a substitute for professional translation, legal, medical or safety-critical communication. Do not rely on it where errors would cause harm. Speaking feedback is automated and may mis-score your pronunciation.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- harass, abuse, impersonate or threaten others, or share hateful, sexual, or illegal content, including in shared phrases and Duo Converse;
- upload content you do not have the right to share, or images or audio of other people without their permission;
- attempt to access other users' data, probe, disrupt or overload the Service, or bypass security or usage limits;
- scrape, copy, resell, or use the Service or its content to train machine-learning models, except as the law allows;
- reverse engineer the Service, except as the law allows;
- use bots or automated means to use the Service or inflate progress.
We may remove content, suspend or ban accounts that break these rules, and act on reports from other users.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of what you submit (voice recordings, messages, phrases, reports, photos). You give Rosie a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, transmit and display it as needed to run, secure and improve the Service, including sending it to our service providers described in the Privacy Policy. If you share a phrase with the community or a friend, you also allow those users to see it. You are responsible for what you share.
7. Our content and intellectual property
Rosie's lessons, curriculum, vocabulary sets, characters, illustrations, audio, design, code and branding belong to Rosie or our licensors and are protected by law. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial learning. Third-party sources and licensed audio remain subject to their own terms.
8. Feedback
If you send ideas or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.
9. Paid features
The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid plans, additional terms covering pricing, billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds will apply and be shown before you pay.
10. Privacy and notifications
How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. You can turn off push notifications at any time in your device or browser settings.
11. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Rosie running but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may suspend or discontinue the Service or any feature, and will give reasonable notice where practical.
12. Ending your account
You can stop using Rosie and request account deletion at any time via support@rosie-ai.co.uk. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 6, 7, 13, 14 and 16) do survive.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and that content will be accurate or error-free. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rosie is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, profits or opportunity arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and £100. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new date here and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after the change means you accept it.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, though if you are a consumer you may also have the right to bring claims in your home country.
